After the completion of the Energy Audit a comprehensive report is prepared showing the findings and recommendations of the Energy Audit.
Steps in the Energy Saving Process
1) Schedule an Energy Audit
2) Prepare for the Energy Audit
a. Make a list of existing problems such as condensation or drafty rooms
b. Have copies of or a summary of one year’s energy bills (gas & electric)
3) Auditor Interview – The auditor will learn about the resident’s behavior such as: How many people live here? Is every room in use? What are typical thermostat settings?
4) The Auditor will examine the outside of the house to determine size, construction type, window type and size, etc.
5) Appliance testing - The Auditor will test the furnace, water heater and gas range for operating safety and efficiency
6) Blower door test – A calibrated blower door will be used to test the home’s air tightness, determine ventilation rate and to find air leaks
7) Review the report prepared by the Auditor
8) Have Miller Energy Solutions prepare a budget proposal for weatherizing your home
